Blizzard Offers Free Diablo III Copies To Those That Pre-Ordered From GAME
Earlier we brought you some sad news for Australian Diablo III fans. It seems that when GAME entered administration, all pre-orders for D3 were effectively cancelled. What’s more, due to the nature of the beast, money spent on the game would not be returned. Well not all is lost. One company has set out to right this terrible wrong.
Blizzard has announced that they will be offering a free copy of the game to any and all people who pre-ordered Diablo III through GAME prior to today. The only downside is that you’re going to need to spend the money on a copy, first. Here’s what you’re going to need to do:
- Purchase the digital version of Diablo III from http://www.diablo3.com now or anytime before May 21, 2012.
- Download and start playing when the servers go live!
- Submit your GAME Australia preorder/prepurchase receipt to us before June 30, 2012.
- Receive a credit from Blizzard, for the amount you paid in advance to GAME Australia for Diablo III. This credit will be applied to the payment method used for the digital purchase.
Yes, having to put forth the money might be a problem for some people. However, they will essentially refund your money, once you give them proof of your original purchase. Big props to Blizzard for taking this initiative. They are in no way obligated to provide these customers with a copy of the game. They’ve simply chosen to go ahead and do so, out of the kindness of their heart.
