$99 Xbox 360 Deal Now Available At Best Buy And GameStop

Remember the $99 Xbox 360 and Kinect deal that we told you about a while back? Well if you wanted to get in on the deal, you needed to head to a Microsoft Store. Unfortunately these retail locations are few and far between. If you’re looking for a more convenient place to get a $99 360, then you’ll be happy to know that you’ll be able to find one not too far away.

Microsoft has announced that both Best Buy and GameStop will be offering the deal. And in case you’d forgotten the details, you’ll get a 4GB Xbox 360 and a Kinect for $99. The caveat is that you’ll need to sign up for 2 years of Xbox Live Gold at a price of $14.99 per month. If you don’t want to that, you can browse Shoppok classifieds to see if there’s a great deal for a Xbox with a Kinect.

Now some of you might complain that this model is more expensive, and a ripoff. While I’m the kind of shopper that is patient and waits for good deals, not everyone does so. So lets imagine that someone did want to buy a 360 and a Kinect, plus have a Gold subscription for 2 years. You’re looking at $300 for the hardware, and $60 for each year of Gold. That’s a grand total of $420. With the subscription model, you’re only paying around $40 more. Yes, that’s almost the price of a brand new game, but if you don’t have $300 on-hand, this might be a viable alternative.
