Ace Attorney 5 Not Receiving Full Voice Acting After All

Last week we had a story about Ace Attorney 5 getting the full voice acting treatment. It was said that because of the 3DS’s full surround sound capabilities Capcom wouldn’t have been able to just use the old sounds from the other games, and thus they were going to make the whole game have voice acting, and not just the key catchphrases. Well, it looks like we were a bit wrong.

It turns out that the original interview was mistranslated. According to community manager Brett Elston it’s only going to be “those iconic key phrases” that are being re-recorded. I’m not going to lie, that’s slightly disappointing.

At the same time, however, it makes sense that they’re only re-recording those lines. After all, a lot of what this game is about is finding the the inconsistencies in the testimony line-by-line. It’d get pretty annoying if you had to hear the person talking every time you wanted to go back over a line.
