Batman: Arkham Origins Has Been Officially Announced!

A few months ago it was noted that Warner Bros. had snatched up some new domain registrations for what seemed to be a new Batman game. Eventually it was revealed that there was indeed going to be a new game in the Arkham series, but there wasn’t any other details released at that time. We do know now, though, that the next Batman game will be known as Batman: Arkham Origins.

As you can probably tell,Arkham Origins will deal with Batman’s, well, origins in crime fighting in Gotham City. The game is being developed this time by Warner Bros. Games Montreal, and will feature many different super villains, including Deathstroke. Expect to see Arkham Origins on October 25th of this year for the Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360, and the PC. It’s not known if it’ll be released for the PS4 or the next Xbox at this time.

The Vita and the 3DS isn’t being left out either! On the same day Armature Studio (a company founded by several of the lead developers of the Metroid Prime trilogy) will be releasing Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate. According to Game Informer, it’s intended to be a “2.5-D Metroid-style exploration action game”.
