Gnilley: The Game You’re Supposed To Yell At

We’ve all had those experiences where a game is frustrating. You will use various colorful words, or the beloved “Really?!” to let your game know how you feel. The only problem being that your game will not progress or change in any way from you giving it the what-for.

Meet Gnilley: The Yelling Game. This game not only encourages you to yell at it, it’s the only way you can defeat enemies. The prototype for this game was made in 2010 during a 48-hour lock-in in Sydney during the Global Game jam. Originally, the game idea was about the pitch of your voice and color, but it quickly became a yelling match instead.

There have been a few other sound based games around in the past, but this is one I can definitely get behind. It’s currently a Kickstarter with about a month to go, and needs a bit of help. Pledges of $10 will get you the game, and there are rewards all the way up to $1000. Their goal seems a bit high, but this particular game received a lot of notoriety when it was just a prototype, so hopefully it will be worth it.
